Synchronized skating
Synchronized skating, or “synchro” is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and manoeuvres. The objective is for the team to perform as one unit executing circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow.
The Riverview Eclipse have grown into one of the strongest synchro programs in the Province, and we regularly win medals at competitions across the Atlantic Provinces. Each fall, coaches in our program form teams based on the skill and age levels of the skaters enrolled in the program. Commitment is the biggest component to consider before deciding to join synchro. Since this is a team sport, coaches and teammates need the commitment of all of the skaters to make the season a positive one for all.
Synchronized Skating: Skaters who are registered in CanSkate stages 4-6, or StarSkate in the Fall session can also join one of our synchronized skating teams.
